ABOUT

Welcome,

The City University Film Festival (CUFF) celebrates and showcases the work of CUNY student filmmakers. CUFF is CUNY's first and only CUNY-wide hub for film students, professors, and professionals to connect, discuss, and collaborate. CUFF organizes several events throughout the year at the various CUNY campuses, including workshops with industry professionals. The festival is held each spring, exhibiting shorts submitted by CUNY students.

Last season's festival was held on March 29, 2009. A CUFF speaker panel featured Melvin McCray, editor at ABC's World News, Greg Rhem, Manager of Original Programming and Documentaries for HBO, and Matt Kohn, documentary filmmaker and director of "Call It Democracy." Seventy-four shorts were submitted by students from seven CUNY campuses. Fourteen films were selected and presented to the over 150 festival attendees. The festival was sponsored by HBO and the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre & Broadcasting.
