Instructional Technology Fellows
One of Macaulay's most innovative enhancements to teaching and learning is the Instructional Technology Fellows (ITFs). The ITFs assist students and faculty alike to understand and take advantage of the appropriate use of technology to support and enhance their academic work.
There are Instructional Technology Fellows, selected through a rigorous and competitive process, on every campus. The ITFs are CUNY doctoral students—in such fields as history, sociology, anthropology, and art history—who also have teaching experience and expertise in instructional technology. ITFs hold regular office hours, offer workshops at the local honors program office, and visit the Seminar classrooms. As part of Macaulay's virtual cross-campus honors community, they are also available via email to answer questions and provide technology tips to University Scholars. Sometimes, the ITFs may also act as informal mentors for University Scholars interested in pursuing graduate work in an ITF's academic field.
"The most rewarding experience of an Instructional Technology Fellow is when you see that in-class 'Aha!' moment between faculty and student that later translates into a really fine project."
