Macaulay Honors College

City College

The City College has a long and distinguished history of preparing students for success in a broad array of professions. The college has the only public schools of architecture and engineering in the metropolitan area and is home to 22 research institutes and centers that focus on topics such as transportation systems, biomedical engineering, structural biology, the African Diaspora, and Dominican Studies. The alumni roster includes nine Nobel Prize winners and more Fortune 500 CEOs than any other public college.

Many Macaulay Honors College students are selected to participate in special honors-level programs that provide special curricula, advising, and/or scholarships. Among these are:

  • The Engineering Leadership Program for incoming students
  • The City College Fellows (for students interested in pursuing PhDs)
  • Isaac Scholars (English and languages)
  • Minority Access to Research Careers Program (biomedical research)
  • The Rosenberg-Humphrey Internship Program in Public Policy
  • The Colin Powell Leadership Fellows Program (public policy)
  • The D’Agostino/Greenberg Fellows (law and public policy)

The City College is situated on a 36-acre campus that boasts a quadrangle of landmarked neo-Gothic buildings. Macaulay students have access to the Honors Center—a suite including a conference room, computers, and a student study lounge. The Center is an inviting place for University Scholars and other honors students to study and socialize in a supportive atmosphere. The Honors staff is available full time to advise and assist students.
