Summer Research Program in Molecular and Developmental Neurobiology
The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Rutgers University are pleased to invite applications for the 2012 Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP). The goals of the program are to:
- Increase student knowledge and appreciation of basic Neuroscience research by providing a closely-mentored, hands-on graduate level research experience.
- Increase student knowledge and interest in pursuing careers in research through career development and educational activities.
As part of the program, students will read published research articles pertaining to their projects, participate in laboratory meetings with their faculty advisors, and attend weekly luncheons with other summer students and faculty where invited guests speak about their career choices.
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents and must have completed at least one year of college prior to the start of the program. Applicants should have good academic credentials including courses in biology and an interest in attending graduate school in science.
Students will live in a dorm and receive a stipend.
The deadline is February 24, 2012.
