Honors Advisors

In their advising roles, Honors Advisors work with University Scholars in countless ways and serve as their main point of contact between Macaulay and the individual colleges. They approve each University Scholar's course roster each semester, advise University Scholars on a choice of major, internships, study abroad, community service, and on graduate and professional school applications. Indeed, Honors Directors counsel and mentor University Scholars on the full range of issues relating to academic work and student life.

Daniel Gurdak ’07 (Environmental Studies and Biology double major, Lehman College). Daniel won a Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad in Australia through the School for Field Study, where he was enrolled in the Tropical Rainforest Management program. A finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship, Daniel captained the Lehman College Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Teams. Daniel recently received the Ranger Award, the highest rank awarded to youth members for advancement and service with a focus on outdoor skill proficiency and leadership. An Eagle Scout and Trek Guide, Daniel loves the outdoors and hopes some day to earn his Ph.D. in Conservation Biology and become a researcher and university professor. He is currently enrolled in an MA program at Oxford University.
