- This first picture is of the ocean right off the island, while the water is still calm. I took it while kayaking. There weren’t many waves and the water stayed peaceful for the most part.

- This next picture was taken only a short time after the first one. But you can tell how drastically the weather has changed. The water instantly became rough and I had to come back in.

- The next pictures I took from the shore, while it looked like a storm was about to start. Even though it was only around 12:00, it looked like the sun had been set for hours.

- The last picture shows the skyline full of dark clouds. It stayed like this for a while, although it never actually rained. It drizzled for a few minutes and then cleared up.
I can’t say that there is one particular thing that describes my life.  But one thing I’ve recently become interested in is taking pictures, especially of things I find interesting or beautiful.
One of my favorite times to take pictures is on vacation, not only because the surroundings are usually scenic, but also because it is something different, something you couldn’t find at home and something you may never see again.
I most recently visited the island of Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean. It’s considered one of the smaller Caribbean islands and is not as well known as some of the larger ones. It is also less influenced by tourism and therefore offers a greater variety of natural beauty. While I was there, I took a lot of pictures of the resort and the beach. But some of my favorite pictures are the ones that show the changing weather.
Never before had I seen such quick and drastic weather change. the island was serene yet the ocean was powerful enough to change that in an instant. The weather on the island was much more unpredictable than I would have thought, but definitely still beautiful. One of my favorite parts about this trip was being to take so many photographs of all the amazing things I saw.
Stormy Sea Scene
by Ryan Haynes
Thunder cut the silence,
Lightning slashed the sky,
Rain whipped the windows,
And the wind did not seem shy.
Crash! Flash! Pitter-Pater! How!
This type of weather is certainly foul!
Waves bombarded the shores,
Clouds filled the sky,
The island became deserted,
It would be foolish to ask why.
Crash! Flash! Pitter-Patter! How!
This type of weather is certainly foul!
Thunder came to a standstill
The lightning toa halt,
A storm without a warning,
Who now can we fault?
