A Map of the Internet

Artist Martin Vargic created this gorgeous visualization of the Internet, using old National Geographic maps as his guide:

Vargic’s is prettier, yes, but comes with its own problems. For instance, what are the political implications of his positioning of the seedier side of the Internet (crime, porn, etc.) in the equivalent of South America?
