Love of the Game
Sports is one of the great loves in my life. I have always enjoyed sports since the first time I picked up a glove and threw a ball. I was always involved in sports leagues when I was younger. I loved pitching for New Springville Little League. I was a pretty good third baseman as well. When my baseball season ended, my basketball season began. I played for St. Rita’s CYO team. I would spend most of my weekends on the basketball court. My teammates and I would pretend we were NBA players. Whenever I blocked a shot I would wave my finger as if I was Dikembe Mutombo. I truly enjoyed my playing career but I knew I lacked the talent to play high school sports. Although, my playing days are now over my love for sports is as strong as ever. Before I leave the house in the morning I watch Sportscenter and I don’t go to sleep untill I watch Sports Night on SNY. I am a true sports junkie. I can’t get enough sports. My room is covered with posters of my favorite athletes. I used to collect baseball, basketball, and football cards when I was younger. I would always try to hustle kids in trades. I never miss a Mets or Jets game. Sundays in the fall are my “nothing days.” I wake up and do nothing but watch football all day. As a sports fan you are constantly riding an emotional roller coaster. There are the ups that come from winning and their are the downs that come from losing. As a Mets and Jets fan I have had more than my fair share of downs but I still love the ride. Life is so serious and sports provides a person with a form of escape. Sports allows a person to sit back and enjoy a game. Sports has provided me with a great deal of excitement. Sports has given me many unforgettable moments. I will never forget my first home run in little league or the first time I went to a Mets game. My love for sports is derived from my personality. I am a very competitive person who hates to lose anything so sports seemed like the perfect hobby for me. My passion for sports is as great now, as it has ever been. I have always loved sports and I will always love sports!

A Poem I Wrote
KOBE BRYANT

Kobe Bryant was born in Philadelphia
His father was a head coach for a Los Angeles team
From the age of three Kobe played basketball
And from there was the beginning of a dream
Kobe Bryant has always been
A mover and a shaker
An amazing shooting guard
For the Los Angeles Lakers
In high school he had a successful basketball career
His dream was to be drafted into the NBA
After his graduation he did just that
He was the 13th overall pick and was on his way.
The Lakers won three consecutive NBA championships
With Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal in the zone
And upon Shaq’s Departure from the team
Kobe became the franchise’s cornerstone
For two seasons he led the NBA in scoring
He scored 81 points in a single game
Second to Wilt Chamberlain’s record
Kobe Bryant became a household name.
In the 2007 to 2008 season he was voted MVP
And has started in every NBA All-Star game
He has had the best selling Jersey in The U.S., Europe and China
And that’s not his only claim to fame.
He is a four time NBA champion
An 11 time NBA All Star
He won a gold medal in the 2008 Summer Olympics
And professionally is one of the best players by far.
