If you would like to learn about the inner workings of my mind in music please read on, if not just disregard this post. Sorry if you don't believe in the things I may say, but these thoughts are my own and we all have different views.
As I wrote before in one of my essays, "In the society that people live in today we are all entitled to our own opinions, whether or not they are correct. People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct, which is how they define reality. But what does it actually mean to be correct? It is merely a vague concept; our reality may all be a mirage or a dream. Simply, we are living in our own world that is shaped by our opinions and beliefs. But mankind is subject to constant changes; our views shift as we experience new things and feel different emotions."
Music is a very strange and unique form of art that has been accepted throughout history in many forms. But what really is music...? As we experience in CHC class music can be anything one chooses it to be. It can be found to bring about many different emotions and even to create an image in ones mind.
There are many genres of music and it is all categorized by what society makes it out to be. For example, there is emo, punk rock, heavy metal, etc. (Which is not my taste in music, no offense.) But what about the music did it get to have the name of the genre. Just because the beat and sound is a certain way, how can you categorize something that is meant to be free expression. That is why we are brought back to the idea of emotion. In music emotion is what plays the greatest roll, what people in society feel when listening...
But one thing for sure, no matter what people think of music, it is an art that we can't live without. It is the "mood setter" and life would be boring without it.
