Overall the Chelsea galleries were amazing! Probably one of New York's best kept secrets, to be able to see all of that... for free! I especially like the darker gallery, the one with a more gothic feel. It combined a refined elegant beauty with the grotesque that was interesting...to say the least. It had the Durer prints from the Renaissance, it had a deathbed that came out of a piano, a lot of skulls and dark imagery, and paintings with the serene bodies floating. That gallery had the the most impact on me. Honestly, I entered that gallery and left it in a completely different state of mind. It had some really beautiful pieces and some questionable pieces as well but overall the experience was phenomenal. These are some of my pictures.
"Science is out of the reach of morals, for her eyes are fixed upon eternal truths. Art is out of the reach of morals, for her eyes are fixed upon things beautiful and immortal and ever-changing. To morals belong the lower and less intellectual spheres."
