Breakfast and Tiffany's, is one of my most favorite movies. I still remember the first time I watched it, it was on the TCM channel after Gilda, with Rita Hayworth. I loved it. I, like millions of others, thought Audrey Hepburn's iconic style and elegance was awe-inspiring. Although some think Holly Golightly is a slut and others think she's crazy. I think she's brilliant. What I love about her is her quixotic nature which I think is so refreshing in such a harsh world.

Currently, girls are really getting into Breakfast at Tiffany's because of the show Gossip Girl. The main characters, Blaire Waldorf and Serene VanDerWoodson, have a weekly ritual of watching it along with Audrey's other films. There is a Breakfast at Tiffany's and that old-world glamour craze right now. Just walking through New York you see pictures from the movie, that iconic one with her in her black dress on the streets, at Virgin records, everywhere. It has become such a part of New York culture.

For Holly Golightly, her place to get away from "the mean reds" is Tiffany's. It would be interesting to see what everyone's special place is, because I'm sure everyone has a place that is a haven to them.
