I can't express how happy I am to have been to the Comic Strip. And getting hooked up with more free tickets? Shoot me now. I'll die a happy guy.
It was almost surreal, to say the least, to see Ray Ellin in person after seeing him in the interview with Professor Judell in the video he showed from the "Daily Show." And one star to him for being a funny host (which was unexpected, because Judell was the one making funnies in the video) and a down-to-earth guy. Oh yeah, ten more stars for visiting our class and hooking us up with tickets.
Our seats at the comedy club were better than I could ask for. We didn't have to climb over people's shoulders nor listen to other people's conversations. Plus we were with a bunch of people we know and love. Despite the drinks being non-alcoholic, which came to a few people's dismay, they were deliciously tangy and sweet, like an exotic fruit juice. The lineup of comedians was perfect; they had everything I wanted, from absurd humor and jokes about our economy, to purely physical comedy. I thought every comedian, even the mean one who joked about his lips and behind and branded our fellow classmate the g-word (gay). I especially liked the "stoner" comedian, I remember laughing to tears during most of his act. By the end, there were so many great jokes that it was hard to recall one.
On second thought, there was one truly memorable line from the show, when the comedian said: "Some people are paying thousands of dollars to take Spanish for four years in college. Why would I do that when I could go to a Mexican prison and become fluent in one year for free? In prison you're gonna have to learn certain phrases. Like when you drop a soap bar in the bathroom... 'Por Favor! No Entro!' 'Es muy grande!'"
