Our class trip to the Comic Strip Live confirmed my beliefs that laughter is the best kind of medicine. Around the time of our trip, I had been plagued by some unidentifiable mystery illness for about two weeks. Maybe it's just that I need to find a new doctor who knows how to make a diagnosis and prescribe proper medication. But still, at the end of the night I left the Comic Strip Live in high spirits and feeling very refreshed.

I've only been to two previous comedy performances, both for Dane Cook. There was such a huge difference between his shows and the one we saw as a class! Dane Cook's performances were done at enormous venues (Madison Square Garden and the Boston Garden), where he was the only performer. Don't get me wrong, I think Dane Cook is absolutely hysterical but there was little room for him to interact with the thousands of fans in attendance. Also, his routine was pretty much set before he even got on stage.

I wholeheartedly preferred our trip to the Comic Strip Live. The atmosphere was so different! At any given moment you could become a target for a joke, especially those seated closest to the stage (like those guys from Holland everyone picked on). Most of the dialogue was spur-of-the-moment, and relevant to the people in the audience. Even though certain jokes were rehearsed, they were on relevant topics.

Thanks for the free passes! I'll definitely be back at the Comic Strip Live over break.

I agree with your comments. Once again, it’s all about the natural voice. You much prefer some one who is able to “free style” his own jokes, rather than memorize them from something. The ability to be natural, by interacting them with the various members of the audience, is truly special.

So, yes, it was definitely special.
