The Arts. / It’s certainly inspired me. / Because of you, I’m a stem growing out through the mortar. / There’s more light out here, / More than I could imagine, / More than the stars could have perspired, / More than the I could have desired. /
And asleep, / I’m a dreamer. / You woke me up. / I see the axis on which it revolves, / I never knew this is what I wanted. / But I still dream. / I built you up in my memories / I won’t tear you down. / I'll tear myself down. / But just so I can build myself up. / Always building taller, / Always growing taller, / Yet never growing up. /
Until now. / I use to stare at the stars because it was there. / Now I stare at the stars because I want to be there. / So looking up, she'll know where to find me. / Damn you gravity, / now there’s nowhere to find me. /
And awake, / I'm a dreamer / I can’t stop, / And even if I did, / I cut the anchors short. / Never could get it perfect, / Because I never cut along the line, / Because I always cut to the back of the line. / My wit has gone a long way, / And yours kept me awake along the way. / If wit grew on trees, / I’d chain myself to one. / If they carried me away, / I’d get carried away with wit. / Maybe to the front of the line./
The engineer asks how do I stand up? / But, the artist asks how do I stand out? / With broken lines, / In broken lines.
