Is the purpose of this conference to raise environmental awareness among the academia or general public?
What are some of the challenges in helping developing, or already partially-developed, economies like India and China grow in a sustainable way?
What does the center offer to students looking to get involved in their local/global communities? What about CUNY-wide?
Are there less challenges in incorporating green technology in already developed countries or is it more difficult trying to get it built in developing nations?
50% of Germany’s energy comes from solar power while 5-15% of America’s energy comes from solar power. Can the US imitate Germany’s approach to save the planet from further carbon dioxide emissions? Any idea how capitalists will react to this approach? Are experts working on photocells that dissipate less heat and more usable energy?

Sustainable energy is very useful and good in the long-run, but how can we get people to invest in sustainable energy, especially with its high short-term costs?

What kind of sustainable energy do you feel is the most worthwhile investing in? For one, while solar panels seem like a great idea, the massive of amount of mining required to produce the same amount of energy as conventional sources seem just as destructive to the environment.
