CUNY Baccaulaureate Program

CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies allows self-directed, academically strong, highly motivated students to design their own academic courses of study under the guidance of faculty mentors. The program is housed at The Graduate Center and maintains a coordinator at each of the CUNY campuses.

Established in 1971, The City University of New York Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies (formerly known as the CUNY Baccalaureate Program) provides students with a flexible, academically challenging way to earn their degree while giving them a major share of the responsibility for the content of that degree.

Through the CUNY Baccalaureate Program I designed a unique area of coursework that focused on International Affairs and Economic Development. By taking interdisciplinary  courses such as Politics of Global, Economy, International Relations and Economic Development and Political Theory of Human Rights, I was able to create a coherent course of study that matched my interests. The flexibility and academic independence that the program offered was the perfect medium in which I could thrive.
