July Fourth and Fellowship for New Americans

As we observe the July 4th holiday, many in the Queens College community will recall our immigrant ancestors or our own experiences coming to this country.  The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans recognizes the contributions of immigrants or children of immigrants by awarding college seniors or students who are at the beginning of their graduate studies up to $90,000 to pursue an advanced degree at a U.S. institution.  Not only does this fellowship provide generous funding, but it also is not restricted to particular degrees, fields or institutions.  Don’t miss your chance to explore this amazing opportunity!

The 2015 competition opens this month, with the application due November 1st.  Selection criteria emphasize creativity, originality and initiative, but financial need is not a factor.  You can read the full eligibility requirements and access the application, instructions and other very useful resources here.  If you are thinking about applying, please feel free to contact me to talk about your plans and the application essays.
