Book of Eli- Just for Mila Kunis

December3

To be honest, when I purchased the movie ticket to “The Book of Eli”, I did not buy it for the hype of the movie, but instead, for a single person.  I had always been a fan of Mila Kunis, ever since “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and That 70’s show, and when I heard that she would co-star in  this movie, I was super excited.  Yet, as I left the movie theater, more than just Mila Kunis had intrigued me.  “The Book of Eli” starts in the setting of a post apocalyptic event.  Most of mankind had already been eliminated, and those that survived banded together under one leader, who wants to control the rest of the world under the power of the Bible.  Eli, however, resents the control of this man, and takes his own fate into his own hands, along with Solara (Mila Kunis), who believes in Eli’s ways more than the antagonist’s ways.  As the movie progresses, you learn that Eli possesses the Bible, is targeted by the Antagonist, who will do anything to win over the Bible, the most powerful document known in that period of time.

“The Book of Eli” keeps all of it’s watchers on the edge of their seats.  Though the movie is jam packed with actions scenes and a great amount of video editing, the storyline that it follows makes it all somewhat believable that it one day could occur.  And though the storyline may seem predicable, this movie will keep you on the edge of your seats, changing up what you think will happen, and keeping the suspense alive. Confusion also plays a part in the movie, and with it, makes this movie the ideal movie for a thrill seeker.

I was excited when I was able to see Mila Kunis in the movie, but I was more excited that she starred in this movie.  Her role, along with Denzel Washington and other great actors, produced a movie that I can call one of the bests of this year (next to Inception, that is).  If you haven’t watched this movie yet, I recommend you order it off amazon.com, and pop it into your blue-ray machine!
