Hello freshmen! My name is Shanna Kofman and I’m a graduate of Staten Island Technical High School. I am on the Pre-Med track and have yet to declare a major. I’ll probably be pursuing a major somewhere in the liberal arts, after I experiment with a few different subject areas. I speak AND WRITE in Russian. I’ve never had any formal art lessons, but I enjoy painting and sketching. I would like to one day learn how to paint with watercolors (my paintings always turn out brown). I’ve taken some pottery lessons and generally enjoy arts and crafts. I was brought up to appreciate art, my house is something like a museum – white walls covered in modern paintings and photography. Outside New York, I’ve visited museums in Spain and Italy. As for the performing arts, I have never really enjoyed musicals but do enjoy other expressive forms. I am looking forward to this class, and especially looking forward to seeing my first Opera!
