Architecture School

Have you seen Kathleen O’Donnell’s Architecture eportfolio?  There are some interesting pictures of sketches and models that she has worked on.  I’m definitely keeping my eye on it to learn more about the life of a student at City College’s Spitzer School of Architecture.

NCHC

I’m recently back from giving a presentation on the Macaulay Eportfolios at the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference (NCHC), which was held in Washington, DC this year.  I was on a panel with Joe Ugoretz, MHC’s Director of Technology and Learning, as well as Tyler Alterman from the class of 2012.  We got to talk about the process of choosing WPMU for our eportfolios, implementing them, providing training through workshops and tech fairs, and Tyler gave a great talk on the ways that he has used his eportfolio and BuddyPress.  Are you a friend of Septopus?

Being at the conference was a good reminder of some of the ways in which MHC is unique: our seven campuses, our laptop program, Instructional Technology Fellows, and an institutional interesting in having public-facing and open-source projects.  I am really proud to be part of the MHC community!

Commenting, Commenting 1, 2, 3

Do you know Joe Ugoretz, MHC’s Director of Technology and Learning?  If you don’t, you really should.  Besides being super-smart and an all-around nice guy, Dr. Ugoretz is the driving force behind many of the technology intiatives here at Macaulay, including this eportfolio you are reading right now.

An Homage to a Grandmother, and Summer

Today I was reading Natalia Julia Donofrio’s eportfolio, which you can find here

Her post “Today, I was followed by lavendar” is definitely worth a read.  I love the sights and smells that it evokes, uniting her family across Argentina, Italy, and Brooklyn.

Away and Abroad

Away and Abroad is a collection of Macaulay eportfolios documenting study abroad experiences.  It has contributions from scholars based at all seven of the MHC campuses, and represents travel to all corners of the globe.

Hello MHC!

We are approaching our second year with the eportfolio system in place.  In its first year, many students, faculty members, and ITFs plunged into the world of eportfolios with gusto.  This site will serve as a sort of eportfolio of eportfolios, showing what is happening in the MHC community.
