A few pages from my high school humor/fake news magazine, The Scallion. This was one of my first forays into magazine design, as you’ll likely be able to tell.

The idea here was to catch the student’s eye with a recognizable cultural icon (Batman). Then the student would hopefully visit the listed website, which contained the magazine’s digital version. The poster was incorporated into a fun promotional campaign.

These were displays for The Scallion taped up all over my high school.
Other facets of the campaign included posting fliers in bathroom stalls for sit down viewing and the passing out of actual scallions (as in, the vegetable, not the magazine). The school smelled fantastic that day.

Unpublished website design for The Scallion. Went through a number of versions until I struck gold in the mixing of the grunge bg texture with the pink and green radial gradients.
