Our Dean Looks Forward

Macaulay provides the transformational experiences that will take our students from their academic aspirations into careers as leaders in their chosen fields. These three points are critical in my vision for Macaulay’s future:

To become the preeminent STEM-focused honors college

Macaulay encourages students to use scientific thinking and new digital tools to analyze data more expansively and achieve greater results. Our plans include additional ways for students to apply the tools of technology to data-driven journalism, public health, software and app development, city planning, research sciences and the arts.

To expand the diversity of our student body

Intellectual diversity, international perspectives and a variety of personal backgrounds are essential to a thriving scholarly community. Our priority will be to to improve access for under-represented and low income, high achieving students.

To raise private funds to realize our goals

I see tremendous fundraising potential for Macaulay as we gain traction in the donor universe and build programs that attract more corporate and foundation support. A vastly increased portion of private funding for public education is a national trend, and funders recognize the need for more support as state governments contribute less.

We count on the support of our community of students, parents, alumni, donors, supporters and friends to realize our vision for this amazing group of rising young superstars. I hope you will join me.
