Offered in the fall, this course is part of the Hertog Scholars Program. Students will examine the history of political and social thought from the Ancient world of classical Greece and Rome through the Renaissance and early modern period.

Students in the Hertog Scholars Program take six required multidisciplinary seminars focused on close readings and discussion of enduring texts that ask vital contemporary questions. The program is open to incoming first and second year Macaulay students.
