Theory of Transmedia Marketing, Storytelling and Media Production

Instructor: Robert Small & Jonathan Ehrenberg
Thursdays, 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Macaulay Honors College, Classroom 3N

Transmedia storytelling uses narrative, interactivity, and a variety of platforms to introduce audiences to brands, institutions, people, and ideas. We’ll explore the subject in depth and our seminars will focus on key topics in digital content creation (guest speakers will include creative leaders from relevant disciplines). Students will be expected to do research on related topics, participate in all discussions, and write comprehensive responses. In addition to the seminars, hands-on workshops will cover core technical skills related to the creation of digital content. For the final project, students will create an original piece of digital content to promote the CUNY Film Festival along with a rollout plan for the content in at least 3 media platforms.
