Wednesdays, 10:00 AM – 12:40 PM
Modality: Hybrid
Macaulay Honors College
Course Code: MHC 331
This course will treat the election of 2022 — at all levels — as a large canvas, suitable for the teaching of history, political science, civics and even some anthropology. Through a careful study of the major actors, with diligent attention to the details of their policy positions, their speeches, and their attempts to tell sweeping narratives about themselves, we will look at all of the ways in which Americans elect presidents and other public servants. While doing so, we will ask constant questions about the health of our democracy, and the extent to which it is truly democratic.
