Become a Producer! This 3 credit class will work with Robert Small and serve as the marketing and production team for the upcoming 2024 CUNY Film Festival. Create online stories and content to connect with both filmmakers and a wider audience.

Digital Media Production explores how narrative story and visual images on social media platforms introduce us to brands, institutions and social movements. We will look at the history of branding and advertising, and the influence of platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Tik-Tok on public opinion. The class also explores the complex relationship between fact and fiction in media.

During the semester we will also cover basic technical skills related to the creation of content for print, web and social media. For the final project, students will create an original digital media campaign to promote the CUNY Film Festival, including a roll-out plan, and logo to be used on at least three transmedia platforms. This course is offered through Lehman College, but will be held at the Macaulay Building. Students whose home campus is not Lehman should file an epermit directly with Lehman College.

Students interested in media production, journalism, marketing, computer sciences, advertising, creative writing, finance and entrepreneurship are all encouraged to register. This class is not part of the Macaulay pre-registration process. Interested students may contact their advisor for assistance.
