Meet Employers

Macaulay organizes office visits and panel discussions for students to meet and network with professionals working in a field of interest. Students gain insight about the organization, company culture, varied career paths, day-to-day responsibilities, and career opportunities.

During this intimate 1-hour session, students will learn from a variety of professional guest speakers, some Macaulay alums and others throughout different industries. Each speaker brings a new perspective and set of tools to provide advice on the best strategies for students to meet their career goals. They will share stories from their undergraduate experience to their present-day role.

Industry Talks was developed in lieu of Career Fairs to bring students a more organic, intimate networking and learning opportunity. At these events, students will have the opportunity to learn from both Macaulay alumni, experienced professionals, and human resources employers on their experience within the industry of choice. Each employer will share internships, full-time positions, and/or mentorship opportunities available, and explain the hiring process and practices, at their organization. The event will kick-off with a panel discussion and lead to smaller round table discussions that will allow students to meet each speaker in a more in-depth and personal environment.

Students will be able to gain the following skills:

  • Communicate Effectively with Others
  • Teamwork/Collaboration
  • Leadership
  • Professionalism

Macaulay partners with companies to develop a project-based learning challenge that will help students gain a deeper understanding of their field beyond their academic studies; students will get the chance to “learn by doing,” working in teams and with the guidance of mentors, finding solutions to real-world issues.

Students will be able to gain the following skills:

  • Critical Thinking/Problem-Solving
  • Communicate Effectively with Others
  • Teamwork/Collaboration
  • Leadership
  • Self-discipline
  • Creativity

The Macaulay Career Development Office works with student club leaders to aid the execution of professional development and training events for their club members. Whether it’s finding professionals for panel discussions and conferences/galas or arranging office visits and training sessions, we are here to support their success.
