Naomi Edwards ’16 (CSI)
1L at Brooklyn Law
Naomi Edwards is a Macaulay Honors College alumni from the College of Staten Island who graduated in the class of 2016. She majored in Political Science and minored in Geography. During her time at Macaulay Naomi studied abroad in Florence, Italy and interned for CouncilWoman Debbie Rose and the law firm, Duane Morris LLP in their New York office. She is currently a 1L at Brooklyn Law School, and is undecided as to what area of law she would like to practice, but she is interested in litigation and civil rights.
Wendell Ramsey, Jr ’09 (City)
2L at Columbia University School of Law
Wendell was born and raised in New York City. He attended Macaulay Honors College at The City College of New York. After graduating with a BA in English Literature, Wendell worked as a tutor and English instructor. He then held jobs both peripherally and directly related to the legal industry, including Trademark Researcher and Legal Writer. At Columbia Law School, Wendell has served as President of the Columbia Black Law Students Association and Academic Chair of the Columbia Health Law Association, as well as Staff Editor for the Columbia Journal of Race and Law (he has been appointed to the Submissions Editor position for the 2017-18 school year). During his 1L summer, Wendell interned in the Disability Advocacy and Education practice groups at Queens Legal Services. This summer, Wendell will work as a Summer Associate at the law firm Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP. Wendell’s legal interests include racial and social justice, health and disability advocacy, and real estate law.
David Rand ’14 (Queens)
3L at New York University of Law School
David Rand grew up in South Florida, before moving to New York City. In 2014, he graduated from Macaulay Honors College at Queens College, where he double majored in Corporate Finance and Economics. During his time at Macaulay, David served as a representative on the Scholars Council and president of the Pre-Law Club. David is currently a 3L at the New York University School of Law. During college and law school, David completed a variety of legal internships at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, New York State Supreme Court in Queens County, Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court, and Duane Morris LLP in New York City. Through the Opportunities Fund, David was able to intern at Pearl Cohen Zedek Latzer Baratz in Israel. Last summer, David was a summer associate at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP. He has continued to work at Cahill part-time during his 3L year, and will return full-time as a corporate associate after graduation. In his free time, he is passionate about music and sports
