Join us as we celebrate the two hundredth anniversary of this influential Brooklynite with Macaulay professor and noted historian Ted Widmer.
Widmer curated the current exhibition Walt Whitman: Bard of Democracy, on view at the Morgan Library and Museum in Manhattan. He also incorporated the exhibition into a unique, interdisciplinary learning experience for Macaulay students. Professor Widmer will share some of the joys, highlights, and challenges of creating a captivating experience for students and museum goers, and draw some surprising parallels between Whitman’s world and our own.
The event is free and open to all.
