Kick off Black History Month by attending our Career Chat Series with Dr. Azzie Forbes, Director of BSSW Social Work Practicum Education and Doctoral Lecturer at CUNY York College.

About Dr. Azzie Forbes

Dr. Azzie Forbes was born in Chicago, IL but has called Brooklyn, NY home since 2013. She currently serves as a Doctoral Lecturer and the Director of BSSW Social Work Practicum Education in the Department of Social Work at York College. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Work and is a Licensed Social Worker. Her dissertation titled “Age & Resiliency: Defining Resiliency in Young Adults Ages 18 to 21” examines resiliency in the young adult population and aims to assist them in becoming more resilient over time through the use of her resiliency plan. Dr. Forbes is known for her work with the young adult population in non-profit organizations around NYC and her curriculum creation. Prior to joining the faculty at York College, she directed two Alternative High Schools in Queens, NY, worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, CDL Driver and Division 1 basketball coach.
