Census and Democracy (Virtual Panel)

  • March 27, 2020
    3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

The census is more than just a piece of paper and does a whole lot more than gather data on the population! It’s every person’s ticket to democracy! Join our panel to learn about the importance of the Census and its role in American Government.

Students will be informed on the benefits of a complete and accurate census. We hope students will leave this event with a better understanding of the history of the census, how the census affects our government representation and how the government spends its funding.

Speakers:

Nicole Yearwood, Senior Partnership Specialist, Field Division / New York Regional Census Center, U.S. Census Bureau

Prof. Ted Widmer, Macaulay Honors College

Dr. Monxo Lopez, Postdoctoral Fellow, Museum of the City of New York
