CUNY Office of Workforce Partnerships is eager to invite you to an exciting event to introduce an amazing internship opportunity with Deerfield Management, an employee owned hedge fund sponsor that focuses on healthcare finance.

Deerfield is looking for 15-20 interns for their paid healthcare finance analyst summer internship from Sciences, Tech, Engineering, Math and Business majors.  Students from ALL majors are welcome to apply. Deerfield interns will have an unmatched opportunity to learn the financial services field from the perspective of a highly successful investment firm. Attend an information session to learn more about the application, the internship, and speak to Deerfield Management staff and current interns.

Internship Details

• Learn and implement financial analyst skills
• Receive an intensive orientation and education from the firm in all aspects of its operations and decision-making processes for investing in the healthcare industry
• Full-time at the firm during Summer 2018
• Earn $3,000/month
• Successful interns will be offered the opportunity to continue on in a part-time paid fellowship for the Fall 2019 and Spring 2019 semesters
  • Earn an additional $39,000 plus professional development allowance

Eligibility Requirements:

1. Preferred: Be within 30 credits of graduation by the end of the Spring 2018 semester
2. Be enrolled in school in Fall 2018, with a projected graduation date of December 2018, Spring 2019 or Summer 2019 **must be receiving a Bachelor’s degree at graduation**
3. Have strong academic skills in fields relevant to the firm, (as referenced above), as demonstrated by a GPA of at least 3.2 in the major and related coursework
4. (Preferred, not required) Majoring in a field relevant to healthcare finance, including business or economics, the hard sciences (such as biology and chemistry), engineering, bio health informatics, quantitative biology, and mathematics/applied mathematics
5. Excellent conceptual skills, curiosity about the unknown, creative problem solving, excellent written and oral communication skills, able to work productively on a team, and a willingness to question.
