Diversity Reception

Come join us in welcoming our freshmen Black and non-Black students of color at the 2020 Diversity Reception. The Macaulay Diversity Initiative, in collaboration with the Scholars Council, is hosting this event to celebrate and empower the diverse identities in the class of 2024.

Our event will feature appearances by Dean Pearl and Macaulay alumni of color. We will also have a special guest speaker, Ashtan Towles. Ashtan Towles works for the NYC Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes and will be speaking to us about issues of hate speech, bias incidents, and upstander tactics. She will share the importance of flagging and preventing hate and bias incidents, and her work and background in the field. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and engage with a broader community of students and alumni of color. We look forward to seeing you all!
