Join us as we welcome Ryan Schulte ’18 (Hunter) as he discusses his first chapbook, Notes on Water and Blood. Schulte uses Bruce Springsteen’s protest song, American Skin (41 Shots) to talk about his upbringing in Southeastern Nassau County and the use of protest art. Joining him in conversation will be Cam Stewart, Student Writing Specialist & Facilitator of Literary Programs at Macaulay Honors College.

Author

 

Ryan Schulte, a gay writer, is a graduate of Macaulay Honors College at CUNY Hunter College and a former volunteer at Word Up Community Bookshop/Librería Comunitaria in Washington Heights. His first nonfiction chapbook, ‘Notes on Water and Blood,’ was published by Greying Ghost Press in 2020 and has now reached its third printing. His fiction has appeared in Hello America Stereo Cassette’s Summer Mixtape, and is forthcoming in EOAGH. He splits his time between Dublin and New York City.
