Macaulay Honors College at The City University of New York is pleased to announce that the 2019 CUNY Film Festival, now in its eleventh year, will take place April 10 – 14 at Macaulay with screenings across CUNY campuses.
The CUNY Film Festival is the largest and longest-running student-produced film festival of its kind. The festival as grown since its grassroots beginnings, attracting more entries and attendees than ever in 2019. Macaulay New Media and Digital Content Lab Director Robert Small provides oversight for the festival.
15 CUNY Film Festival awards will be presented, including the Frederator Animation Award, sponsored by the well-known animation studio. Also of note: the LGBTQ Image Award will honor the film that creates a strong positive image for the LGBTQ community.
Films will be screened on Friday, April 10th through Saturday, April 13 across CUNY campuses, with prizes awarded to top filmmakers at a gala event Sunday, April 14. The awards event will include a panel discussion and will take place at Macaulay Honors College, 35 West 67th Street. All CUNY Film Festival events are free and open to the public.
