Sandy Relief and Fall Semester Progress Information

Dear students,

Hurricane Sandy blew a big hole in our lives. Familiar landscapes have been transformed, and basic assumptions challenged.

Acknowledging these disruptions, large and small, we will take this semester's grades out of the calculation for Macaulay students to remain in good standing. Please note: this does not change anything on your official transcript or from a faculty perspective —you will still receive grades in accordance with the policies of the individual class and professor — but Macaulay will not count the fall semester for our end-of-semester progress review. Be sure to be in contact with your Macaulay Advisor about your semester progress.

As part of CUNY's effort to assist with Sandy Relief, a Macaulay Day of Service has been declared for November 30. All students are invited to participate. Further details will be provided in the upcoming days.

If you or other Macaulay students are encountering serious difficulties this semester with housing or transportation related to the storm, please let us know. Take this brief survey. And if you need urgent help, please apply for our student emergency fund. We can't fix everything, but we will try to help as much as possible, from a spare couch to replacement books.

I wish you and your families all the joys of the Thanksgiving season.
