Dhanu Chola is a second-year mental health counseling graduate student from Baruch College. She is interning at Macaulay Honors College’s mental health and wellness center to pursue her long-standing desire of working in a college counseling setting. Dhanu has received her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology from Delhi University, India. Over the past few years, she has worked with a variety of different populations, some of which include the geriatric community, middle-school students, inpatient/outpatient, and her most recent internship, where she worked with individuals battling addiction. Working at an addiction care facility allowed her to receive an extensive amount of exposure on facilitating group sessions as well as to sharpen her motivational interviewing skills. Dhanu inclines towards an integrative approach towards therapy, she believes in customizing sessions on the basis of what works best for each individual student. In her free time, she enjoys taking walks, exploring the city and also likes playing sports.
