As Director of Special Projects at Macaulay Honors College, Rona is responsible for working with senior administration and campus partners to develop and implement evidence-based programming that enhances the student experience and their post-graduate outcomes.

Prior to this role, Rona was the Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations at John Jay College where she raised funds and worked with staff to develop new and expanded programming that increased retention, momentum, and graduation rates, and helped support students with pandemic-related and other emerging needs.

Rona has worked for 20 years in nonprofit and higher education in various roles, including program development and administration, fundraising, grants/contracts management, and budgeting. With roots in social work and education, the breadth and depth of her professional background brings a community-centered approach to her work.

Rona has a bachelor’s degree in Art History and master’s degree in Social Work, both from Stony Brook University. She lives in Manhattan and spends her free time running, cooking, and studying Afro-Latin dance.
