Jackson Heights

In Jackson Heights you can travel to the other side of the world and back within a few minutes!

After leaving the Roosevelt Avenue-Jackson Heights / 74th Street stop, you might be hit with a cultural shock. Early on a Saturday morning a group of us traveled to that very stop hoping to gain some insight on the diversity located here. While coming out of the train station, everything seemed calm. But once the afternoon rush came, Jackson Heights was covered with residents. Some were getting their grocery shopping done, while others were going out to have a taste of Little India for lunch. We were bombarded with different ethnicities, such as Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Columbians, and Dominicans. Within one day we were able to meet many different people, as well as sample food from different cultures. There was a lot more to Jackson Heights than we imagined.
