I am currently working on a third book, which examines the tensions between New York City’s progressive self-image and its longstanding failure to address inequality and segregation in its educational system.

This article examines Freedom Schools launched in Prince Edward County, Virginia, during the Summer of 1963. This article can be read as something of an addendum to Southern Stalemate, which only briefly touches upon Prince Edward Freedom Schools.
