Too Many Zooz
Nearly every day, after a long day of school, I find myself hoping that the band “Too Many Zooz” will be playing at the Union Square Subway Station. This band is completely different than all other public music I have every seen. Drawing crowds of hundreds of people and playing extremely catchy tunes with a saxophone, trumpet, and drums, these guys are on a completely different level than anything I’ve ever seen. They’ve become so famous, that there was recently an article in the New York Post featuring them. Here’s the link:

Out of all the subway performers I have seen and heard in many life, this band is one of the best! I really love how you can see the effort they put in to entertaining people. I wouldn’t mind waiting for a train if I could listen to these guys. Definitely will keep a eye out for them!
When people think of art, it is very often only the physical kind. It’s even more common for people to only think of art as something produced by an endorsed professional. I love the fact that you decided to write a blog post about a street performance artist.
I’ve seen Too Many Zooz in person, and I think one of the reasons why they’re so popular is because their music embodies their surroundings. The upbeat, jazzy beat is somehow both chaotic and intimate, reminiscent of the bustle of an evening commute- in other words, they provide a soundtrack to what would ordinarily be a dull trek through a subway station.
