Description and Mission
The Zolt-Gilburne Faculty Seminar at Macaulay Honors College at CUNY provides a unique opportunity for an invited group of distinguished academics and guests from widely diverse backgrounds to engage in discussion of a selected theme. A dinner table setting and brief presentations by two participants each time encourage reflection and collaboration while enabling spontaneity.
“Imagination” was chosen for the inaugural year of the Seminar. The choice of a highly interdisciplinary group is intended to accentuate the range of ways to think about so rich a topic, which resonates from scientific/technological to sociological to artistic ways of thinking about the world–as it is, as it has been, and as it might be in the future.
