Phototrails

Phototrails explores social media’s visual data which contains billions of photographs shared by hundreds of millions of contributors to gain insights from this type of massive collective visual production. Phototrails is a joint project between the department of History of Art and Architecture at the University of Pittsburgh, the Software Studies Initiative at California Institute for Telecommunication and Information, and The Graduate Center, City University of New York. The project is supported by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
