New Faculty Institute

As part of a year-long new faculty orientation program, the New Faculty Institute is a four-day program, held in January, that features discussion of instructional technologies available to faculty; high impact practices adopted by the college; data available from the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment at the institutional, program, and course level; assessment practices for courses, programs, and accreditation; and shared governance. The institute is administered through Blackboard, where resource materials in all the areas above are made available. Each session, faculty complete an online survey to help the facilitators to assess the effectiveness of the session; at the end, a separate survey assesses the overall impact of the institute, providing outcomes for the facilitators for the continuous improvement and updating of the institute modules.
