Why Is This Relevant?

“Where I Live” was actually our first assignment in Arts & Culture of N.Y.C. Seminar class this year. We were asked to create a visual diary depicting what defines us. As you have seen, I greatly enjoy nature, serenity, beauty, harmony, and freedom. This assignment helped me discover and express myself, and I kept it in the back of my head throughout the entire semester. In the course of the semester, we as a class went to see dance performances, an opera, and a Broadway musical. In addition, we visited an art gallery, took part in an interactive theatrical experience, and heard a string quartet perform legendary masterpieces. Aside from all of that, I visited several landmarks on my own. Now, as the semester is coming to an end, I am looking back to reflect on how these experiences can be related to the things I value in life. It turns out many of the experiences we had as a class helped me explore these values further and even reinforce them. On this website, I will be describing some of the most memorable experiences I had in my seminar class, constantly drawing connections to the “Where I Live Assignment” to show how my values shaped my interpretations of the things I saw.
