The New Year in New York City

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

No one does a New Year’s celebration quite like New York City. No other New Year’s celebration is broadcasted all over the globe either. Why is New York New Year’s so popular? It holds absolutely no religious value, and the only traditions involve setting off fireworks, counting, and sometimes (especially for college students) kissing someone. Why the craze?

A reason for everyone, at the same time, to drink together, be happy, be loud and boisterous, see beautiful lights blink and explode in the air, spend time with friends and family while doing whatever it is you want to do, and generally making a fool out of yourself as congratulations for making it to another year without dying.

What other reason do you need?
