This semester we have been exploring our past along with the past of the residents of New York. New York is one of the most diverse cities in the world due to a plethora of immigrants who each bring their unique cultural flavor to the city and its neighborhoods. We had the chance to delve into and explore our own background and culture by writing about the places we migrated from. In the process, each of us wrote an immigration narrative that chronicled the experiences of ourselves and our ancestors in journeying to New York City. Along the way, we had the chance to research the migration of different ethnic groups in New York and sample the rich cornucopia that is New York City.
