Is Your Laptop in Top Working Order?
 It’s critical that you resolve any issues before 7/9

Attention Class of 2018:  The AppleCare extended warranty for your laptops will expire on Sunday, July 9 of this year.

If you have any unresolved issues with your MacBook Pro, you must log them as a problem with AppleCare before the warranty expires or you may be responsible for the entire cost of repairs.  Please check that all these features are working:

  • CD/DVD drive
  • built-in camera
  • USB ports
  • speakers
  • headphone jack
  • keyboard
  • trackpad
  • battery
  • power adapter, cord and plug

If the hard drive is making clicking or knocking sounds, it is in danger of failing; so back up all of your data and try to get the hard drive replaced.

The fastest way to log a problem is to call AppleCare Technical Support at 1-800-800-2775, option 3.  You can also make an online appointment at one of the Genius Bars at an Apple Store, or go to Tekserve at 119 West 23rd Street in Manhattan.

If you have already tried to get an issue resolved by Apple and either were denied service or were told that it is not covered under warranty, please email Laptop Coordinator Mary Carney at laptop@mhc.cuny.edu and explain the situation as completely and accurately as possible.
Again, the AppleCare extended warranty on the Class of 2018 laptops will expire on July 9; don’t wait until the last moment!
