The student speaker at Macaulay’s commencement ceremony is an honored role and an opportunity to represent your class. If you’re interested in auditioning, you must be nominated by a Macaulay director, advisor, faculty member, or fellow Macaulay classmate. Students may seek nomination by contacting one of these representatives with your intent to audition.
To audition, students should:
1)Secure your nomination.
2) Contact Cameron Stewart at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an audition on either April 9th (10am-noon) or April 11th (10am-1pm) at the Macaulay Building (35 West 67th Street). In your email, please include: full name, campus and who is supporting your nomination.
3) Write a draft of your speech. The draft—three minutes in length—should in some way reflect your college experience. In the past, winning speeches have blended the personal and the public with confident prose and specificity.
If you have any questions, please email: email@example.com
To ensure time for editing and revision by graduation, students interested in speaking should be available to meet at least twice with Cam before June.
