The first endowed Opportunities Fund recently established by the Liu Shiming Art Foundation in memory of the celebrated Chinese sculptor Liu Shiming, this fund will provide a Macaulay student with a $3,000 grant for an in-person and virtual internship at the Godwin-Ternbach Museum at Queens College.
This internship, supervised by Museum co-directors Maria Pio and Louise Weinberg, will include conducting research, giving a presentation, and assisting with the preparation for, and installation of, an exhibition featuring Liu Shiming’s work in summer 2022. The internship timeframe is June 1-July 22, 2022. This will be a remarkable opportunity for students interested in Chinese art and culture as well as museum education, collections, and exhibitions.

Service Trip A year and a half after Hurricane Maria, much of Puerto Rico’s infrastructure remains devastated and in need of repair. This summer, 16 Macaulay Honors College students will have the opportunity to participate in our second service trip to the island, as we partner with the St. Bernard Project (SBP) to assist in home rebuilding, to directly benefit families in need. MORE Study Abroad Macaulay Honors College and Tel Aviv University’s Porter School of Environmental Sciences is again offering a study abroad program during the summer 2019 session. Tailored just for Macaulay students, the program consists of one – four credit course focused on sustainability, combined with carefully planned living and learning opportunities, trips and cultural experiences.
